So unbelievably overpriced. I was shocked that tacos for four for lunch were $70…soft drinks and tea were our drinks. I will NEVER go again. Meat in pork tacos was very tough. Toppings were non-existent. Wait staff was very uninterested and lounging on the sofa while waiting on our table.
Best steak and fish tacos!. Best steak & fish tacos I’ve ever had (I love the corn tortillas), my favorite! The buffalo chicken taco and their other tacos are also fantastic. A great unique salsa recipe as well! They cook their fries in some kind of special oil (soooo goood). I know the owners: they grew up in Mexico living on street tacos, and they’ve done an amazing job bringing the best of that authentic experience to Baton Rouge. Highly recommended! Taco Chops is fast becoming a core part of the Baton Rouge food community, no joke.
Great Tacos and Everthing!. So far I have not had any really decent tacos here in Baton Rouge. The Tex-Mex in this city leaves a lot to be desired. That is why this place rocks, the fish tacos are more like the California style, made with breaded cod and then wit the the cole slaw and jalapeo tartar. I think these south Louisiana people are too used to catfish, which I won’t eat. The Chorizo Quesadilla was awesome and it is probably the biggest and thickest quesadilla I have had. The beans and rice is totally awesome and loaded with flavor. The Mucho Nachos are HUGE and loaded. So far I have tried everything and it is all good. As for the service it is great also. This is definitely a place that is going to make it.11 May, 2015Chorizo Quesadilla. This quesadilla is loaded with chease and chorizo, it is thick and delicious. I get it with a side of queso and add a side of jalapeos. Biggest and best quesadilla!
VERY GOOD!. We really liked the combinations and flavors. The mucho taco was huge and very good. And don’t forget to try the churros and ice cream. Totally worth it. The restaurant isn’t much to look at, but the food makes up for it
Nice quite and friendly !. I have been bout everywhere , lots of places that I want go back to . BUT I will go back to TACO CHOPS !friendly , what we ordered was great , we will soon try the rest of the menu . simple great menu ,quality ingrediants and proud owners . more than I can say about most places !! give them a try ! leave your opinion ! Mine is all stars !MOST all GOOD eating places are good , but GREAT workers and owners is the key to KEEPING the business GREAT !
Nothing special. I went in and got a to-go order. As others have stated the owner is very nice; he even gave me a card for a free taco on my next visit. Anyway I ordered a fish on corn and a steak on corn. I thought they were ok, but honestly it reminded me of something I could make myself at home. Packaged tortillas, frozen fish. There wasn’t really anything special about it, and it was overpriced. I’ll stick with La Morenita for my taco fix.
Glad we gave it a Try…. Wasn’t sure when we pulled up if me and my 8 year old would like this place but decided to give it a try. We had originally went to go get crawfish but were sold out. I’m glad!! Authentic and Original. I had the Taco with Fish and was delish!!The make their salsa and my daughter loved it. She had the kids quesadilla and ate every bite. Her entre with a side and drink was only $5.00..she had rice and loved it as well. Must try the beans. The best by far anywhere I’ve been. Homemade……one of the owners stopped by and talked with us and was a very friendly atmosphere.We will be back…..Do hope y’all get a decorator and make it fun and brighter in there…….I do feel it will be a local hot spot in Baton Rouge…Donna
