Bought a strawberry cake. And the younger employees would cut your cake with no question. Went in one day bought a cake an older lady was serving me ask her to cut the cake for me . she says it would cost me to cut the cake I then in turn ask her why she replied it was company policy then I proceed to ask why and that the younger employees would do it at no charge. She then tell me it’s wrong. Have never went back after that incident.

It’s true! Bad customer service. There is nothing worst than walking unto a bakery full of people that just seem to have no interest in their customers. They act as if THEY are doing you a huge favor when your they’re trying to purchase a product. If it wasn’t for my mom wanting their coconut cake for her bday. my friend and I would have definitely left without buying. The sad part about it is that I actually know a member or the Sherman family and she is very nice. I don’t know what they’re doing in the hiring process….

Excellent King Cake Delivery. ZULU King Cake is GREAT! I am from Louisiana, but now I live in Atlanta and wanted to order an authentic king cake from a Louisiana bakery. My family told me that Ambrosia was good, so I took a chance and had a cake shipped to Atlanta. The cake arrived promptly on the requested date and seems like it was made fresh today (I think that justifies the shipping cost). The cake was delicious and a definite crowd pleaser. All hail the chocolate and coconut king cake named ZULU.

I love their fresh strawberry cake but forget about ordering a custumized cake. I even brought pictures of the design I wanted on the cake and they did whatever they liked. I specified waves, 3D waves with the white foam, brought them pictures of similar cakes and they paint sprayed the cake blue… Very dissapointed. Then charge you a good prize to place a picture on the cake and they use a minuscule frame for the picture. I tell you, never again.

Terrible Staff. Me and my fiance went to Ambrosia today looking for my grooms cake. When we first entered, no one greeted us at all but we noticed they greeted several other individuals. So I ignored it and looked at various displays of sweets to order different samples. No one again said anything or asked if we needed help. But I noticed two older white women entered the store and was greeted right away from the checkout clerk and asked if they needed any help from two employees behind the cake display. I’ve ordered several large strawberry cheesecakes for large events but the blatantly disrespect and disregard for two African American customers is unacceptable. I was going to order my grooms cake with Ambrosia but I’ll rather a company who respects and greets their customers without regard to their race. Do not recommend their services.

The Worst. People should know what they are actually buying when they purchase cakes/pastries/whatever else from here. The cakes are made from a mix (think Betty Crocker), the icing comes in big blocks and is fluffed up with water and almond extract, the fillings come in big buckets. Basically, the same things that grocery store bakeries (Winn Dixie, WalMart, Albertsons, etc) use to make their cakes- except at Ambrosia you pay double, sometimes triple the price. The pastries that are sold there- french macaroons, lemon squares, pecan candies, etc- some in frozen; all the employees have to do is pull the items out of the freezer and defrost them. They are horrible to their employees, as well as their customers. Think twice before you over pay for your next cake.

Food for people who are willing to put up with poor management. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM AMBROSIA BAKERY AGAIN. I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. It was not done as the picture I had been shown. I left the bakery second guessing how I felt about the cake. I got home and decided to call and speak with them to see if there was anything we could do to fix it. I was even willing to pay for time spent fixing it though I never got a chance to tell them that because they hung up on my 4 times! I went up there in person and I totally see why the staff thinks it is okay to treat people that way because the store manage, Ed, has no better customer service training than anyone else. He treated me like I was a crazy person. I wish I could have video taped his handling of the situation because it would have appalled people. He NEVER apologized to me for how I had been treated which would have gone so far with me. Instead he told me all the reasons I was wrong. Their food is delicious, I have loved everything I have had there but I will NEVER go there again because it is not worth it. The way I was treated was beyond rude it was inhumane. Yes, they may have fixed my cake begrudgingly but the damage they did to how I thought that business operates is done. I will tell anyone and everyone to go somewhere else.
