I LOVE IT HERE! Forget the menu. Tell Sam, manning the bar, your deepest drink desires and he makes them come true. My friend had always wanted to find a way to combine tequila and champagne. Sam whipped up an incredibly tasty and potent mixture of tequila, champagne, st. Germaine, bitters and grapefruit juice. We passed ours around to the other bar patrons…they immediately ordered 2 more for themselves. Other cocktails included a fantastic caipirinha and his creation in response to my request for a brown liquor (whiskey, bourbon or scotch) that warms my tummy. I received a snifter with a wine based cocktail includin Pinot noir, cinnamon, bourbon (I think) and a ribbon of orange zest he set on fire then dropped in the glass. I almost forgot my friend’s champagne cocktail made with hibiscus ‘juice?’ and an gorgeous, edible hibiscus blossom on the bottom. A treat for the eyes and the palate. Oh yes, I will be back…heck, I’m looking for an apartment within walking distance so I can make UnCommon my home base.
