Me and my friend found this little gem while walking in the quarters and decided to go inside because we were hungry and Omg im so glad we did. Drinks are beautiful and amazing and the food was great. The staff was so sweet as well. I definitely will be back.
Polynesia in NOLA. Good thing I don’t live or work near this bar/restaurant because I would be here almost every day. This place reminds me of a bar that I visited in Honolulu a long time ago while watching the planes take off overhead. The food is first class in grade and the rum concoctions are absolutely off the chart. Did I mention the service? Top notch chemist to make that favorite rum drink. They only serve (3) types of beers in a bottle, no draft. RUM is the flavor of this tiki getaway so bring your hula shirt or grass skirt and enjoy!
Great Tiki Bar with awesome food!! Super friendly and informative staff. We came for happy hour on Easter Sunday. Drinks are a little pricey but SO worth it. REAL Tiki drinks. Do not miss this place!
While having a tropical orientation, this isn’t some cartoonish place from the ’60s. It has a rather extensive drink menu, and all of them we’ve tried were good to excellent but not cheap. The Mai Tai is a particular favorite followed by the Lat 29 and the Nui Nui. Really enjoyed the excellent duck entree with snow peas which is prepared in an Asian fusion style. That said, it is also priced similar to entres at a high end restaurant. The Cuban sandwich with green beans is also very good. They seem to take a bit of a different approach to happy hour than most places, with drinks and menu items that differ from the regular offering. Not sure how crazy I am about that approach as I seem to drift back to the regular menu and drink offerings which of course are higher priced. The service on all of our visits has been average to good but the folks are always pleasant.
Great Rum cocktails. Food was great too. Fun place.
No Kids allowed. One star for poor service…actually for not allowing kids after 3pm as I stood at the door at 3:30pm looking at an empty dining area with four dudes milking their drinks at the bar. Actually the guy said no kids after 3pm…the places opens at 3pm on Sundays. I get the whole bar drinky drinky scene but like other places then tend to allow families till 8pm especially when there is a separated dining area. Oh well.
Bad service
