Oh Po Boy. Stewart’s Diner is a restaurant in the urban area of New Orleans. I particularly enjoy the turkey and fish poboys to go. The fries are great! If you are of the elite, this restaurant does not reflect your style of dining. However, you are seeking hot meal, the red beans and rice with sausage is a good selection. The chops and chicken is also a part of the soul food menu. It’s a great place to get a good meal when you are hungry.
Stay Away. We went for coffee and was hoping to have a light breakfast and ended up leaving, after we had paid for our breakfast, without so much as a cup of coffee. It was awful. It was early and no coffee was made so she said it would be a few minutes and we waited 10 and she was still trying to figure out how to use the MR. Coffee pot. We had prepaid so just told the two men sitting at the counter drinking beer(at 9am) that they could have our breakfast and we left. A little scary place. I would stay away.
Nice people; decent food. Founded 2005. Very friendly, sweet service, if a little absent-minded. Asked for my sandwich undressed but it came dressed. Asked for the hottest wings they had but they came plain. Forgot one order etc. Nice, tidy decor. Only thing opened in that area since Katrina. Like the photos of Pres. W. on the walls, and the mass of Saints items. Otherwise bland. The food was a mixed bag: my boneless pork chop po boy on French was only $7 and pretty good. Fries looked great but had no flavor. Fried catfish plate was decent. Liked the chopped speghetti-style mac and cheese. Bacon was not great. The wings were outright terrible. Four entrees and 4 drinks and some sides for just $42 with tax and tip. May 2010.
