Los paisanos. Sorry but we move to the west bank at 1115 van trump st gretna la for information please call to 504 301 3523 aaa and we were going to have trompo or spin tacos
Very good; even the slightly burned tamale had a great flavor and came with a traditional white sauce and cheese. Pollo con Tajadas no longer on menu. Great value overall.
Inexpensive and good. Authentic Mexican place, not a great neighborhood, but great prices. Had the chicken tacos and pork tacos – the chicken was better. Fast, nice, and bilingual service. Even more delicious with a Mexican Coca-Cola and Corona.
Most Authentic Mexican in NOLA. There is nowhere in New Orleans with more authentic Mexican food, and for cheap! Great prices and great food, I used to eat here all the time. The salsa verde and sour cream are really good too, and the staff is awesome. There have been several times when they have given me a beer on the house. Definitely try this place out, it’s awesome.
This is not a glowing review ;). A friend made me promise not to write a glowing review because we don’t want our recent find to become over-run by foodies in need of authentic mexican.
Decent Cheap authentic eats. For those willing to head down to South Claiborne for lunch or desayuno, you may want to check this place outDecent food for cheap cheap pricesI’d give the carne asada tacos an A-The chicken Quesadillas a B ratingThe mixed pupusas were sadly only a C to C+If I’m in the area, I’ll stop again but wouldn’t head across town for a meal here, fwiw
Lo Mejor. I’ve been loyal to the folks at Los Paisanos since it was run out of a bus in a gas station parking lot – it was magical then, and is still now. Count on an experience. This is a place for regulars – and Spanish speakers – and every meal I’ve had there has been slightly different from the previous. The restaurant turns into a wild karaoke bar on some weekend nights. If you’re looking for sabor, friendly folks, and no frills, you’ll find a place unparalleled in Los Paisano’s.The burrito’s and quesadillas are phenomenal – as are the soups, if you catch them on a day that they have them, for an unbeatable price. For a splendid surprise, order the pollo con tajadas; it takes a little longer to prepare, but it’s well worth the wait.Forget Izzo’s. You’ll never go back to Felipe’s. You’ll even forsake Juan’s. This is the culmination of your quest for quality Central American food.
