Where’s the flavor?. I had previous experience with Rouses plate lunches and large amounts of food ordered for parties. Previously the food and service was good. However, the recent experience of a large volume of chicken and sausage gumbo was a huge disappointment as was a subsequent large order of jambalaya. The gumbo was watery with little flavor. The jambalaya was a great disappointment as well. It lacked proper flavor, which could have been accomplished by sauteing onions, celery, bell peppers, and garlic, and adding various Cajun seasonings and spices. No one spoke positively of the food. No one went back for seconds. There really is no excuse for Rouses selling a volume of food and having the quality and taste fail as it did in my recent experiences.
