Believe it or not, my first time here since moving to the area. A bit out of the way but will now be on my short list for a great meal locally. Way back when atmosphere in an old house/store with different rooms and a cool and separate bar. One thing I will note because it matters to me and a lot of people. We got there pretty early for Saturday dinner, around 6 PM. Decent crowd but not packed yet. Noise level was energetic but manageable. By 645 it got more crowded with two big party groups arriving and within in literally 5 minutes was louder than an LSU game where they score against Bama in final seconds to win. So loud you cannot even think. Now on to the meal. Not a ton of imagination in the bar arena but adequate beer, wine and liquor choices but this will not be your reason to return. They do not have Community iced tea either.Service from Brittney and team was attentive, friendly and timely. She took just enough time to give us the skinny and not try to upsell everything, which was appreciated. Soups are outstanding. All of them. Crab brie is 5 star, gumbo very close to mine and 4.5 stars. Fried green tomatoes were also a hit with the cold crab maison on too of hot crispy maters. Salads serviceable. Mahi special was devoured by our son, wife lived her drum fish and we all had a few bites from the $34 seafood bounty I ordered. Only miss here was the softshell seemed a bit over fried (burned taste) and whole platter was not hot meaning it sat a bit.Food overall at 4.75 stars. Service 4.5, ambience 3.75(noise matters). Location a 3.5. Total maybe a bit over 4 and could easily go to 5 after a couple more visits. Well done Roberto s.

One of those hidden gems of the Baton Rouge market for foodies. The atmosphere is what seems to be an old country home right across the road from the river and from that quaint structure comes a dynamic variety of quality and unique south Louisiana cuisine. This is a hot spot that may have a wait but is worth a little patience. Definitely worth the time to check out.
We just had one of the BEST MEALS EVER!! Fried Green Tomatoes topped with lump crabmeat for our starter. The hubs had the Roasted Duck which had a currant berry glaze, and I had the Beef Tournedos with a bordelaise topped with lump crabmeat & then a bearnaise sauce. They were both out of this world!! The server, Jessica, was the sweetest – she made the experience even more enjoyable. Can’t wait to go back!!
Incredible. We live just a few mile down the road. Thank goodness we don’t have to go far! It is amazing. Friendly, friendly, friendly! Food can’t be beat. I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes, the sensation salad, the catfish billy, the stuffed shrimp (I forgot it’s menu name) and the pastas. I’ve never had room for dessert!
Great food at Robrto’s. It’s been a few weeks since we ate there but the memory of great food lingers on.Roberto’s is a surprise to behold……it’s an old grocery store with wooden floors andbeaded walls. I’m surprised that the old counter is not there. I’m 81 years old andgrew up in the country with old grocery stores…….brings back many fond memories. So much for the looks.I ate their crawfish pasta and found it great. I will be going back soon.
Yummy! Perfect and quiet setting, excellent and fresh food, fantastic service. Our server was Erin, she was friendly and attentive. We will return.
