I really loved this place. I went in there yesterday an they were so friendly an I had a brief moment to meet the lady that makes the sanwhiches an she had such a warm sense an made you feel at home. The owners are really nice an I would recommend this resteraunt.

What not to eat at parenton’s. Don’t eat the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs taste like mildew, the sauce is like tomato sauce from the can with sugar in it, and the spaghetti is waterlogged.
I came in for a poboy, got a grilled ham and swiss and it was delicious. Full of meat and half of what I ordered filled me up. Although I didn’t have to wait, the few times that I have it was worth it. Usually a wait means the restaurant is good. The host was very friendly and outgoing. She requested the ham sandwich for me and I’m so glad she did. I’ll be back for sure once again!!!! My husband for the roast beef sandwich and told me it was so good he wanted to take one home for dinner!!! He also didn’t finish what they made because it was filled with hot fresh roast beef!! Thanks for everything guys!!!!
Great Food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I enjoy coming to Parenton’s any chance that I get. The Seafood platter is awesome. The shrimp are a good size, the fried oysters are great. Friday’s special is great fried seafood. I enjoy the fried shrimp poboys and my mom had an oyster poboy. We loved it!!!! One thing I really enjoy is the french fries cooked fresh when I order them. Many other places give you cold soggy fries that I want to throw away. At Parenton’s the french fries are crisp and steaming hot just like I like them. I have told my family from Alabama about the great experiences I have had here and they cannot wait to try the menu, when they come in for the summer. A New Orleans must see place.
Observant Patron. I am old patron of Parenton’s for YEARS!! The food is fresh and prepared daily. They have best seafood po boy’s in town and THE BEST roast beef po boy since Clarence & Lefty’s. The luncheon special’s & plate dinners are awesome!! The menu is reasonably priced! The owner’s take pride in their business and customers (BOTTOM LINE). I happened to be dining when the owner took the phone order and explained, it will be an hour wait (they were BUSY as all reputable restaurants are). At least she informed the other person on the phone how long of wait. If they, didn’t like the time alotted, they should have ordered elsewhere. If the owner would have told you 15 min & it would have been an hour instead, then there would be reason to complain. I was still in the restaurant when the woman came in to pick up her 10 po boys AND was still there when the owner received a NASTY phone call from the dissatisfied customer a few minutes later. I’ll bet you people devoured those po boy’s … no doubt! The owner & staff are friendly people!! As a matter of fact, I’ve seen her mingle with new customers … no one is a stranger!! NO ONE! Folks, don’t let these negatives comments discourage you from patronizing Parenton’s. They ARE people friendly & their food is OUTSTANDING! IF you folks want to know what rude is, try dealing with a bank! Tellers are the worse!
A Regular. Parenton’s has the very best fried seafood I have ever eaten anywhere; and, their fried chicken special on Tuesday puts all the so-called chicken establishments to shame. I am a regular Parenton’s customer, which is why I was surprised to see a couple of reviews commenting on rude service. The family-friendly atmosphere is what makes this establishment so special. Since Parenton’s serves the very best seafood anywhere, Friday’s during lent are insane. I have seen customers in line almost to the door to place an order. I don’t know what time the unhappy patrons called to place their order; but, during lent on a Friday I am certain the owner was extremely busy. Maybe, just maybe, the owner was only explaining why the order would take so long to prepare. Also, since this is a Po-Boy shop and everything is prepared fresh, perhaps there were a lot of orders in line to be prepared before theirs. Again, all I can say, is if you haven’t tried Parenton’s, you’re missing out!!
