Like it Alot. We get carry-out from this place about once a month or so. Its always super fresh, and very very good! The owner’s are very friendly and they really seem to appreciate their customers. We are really happy to see it so close to our neighborhood – and hope they stick around!
Freshest sushi in the city. Went there for lunch and was blown away by the quality and service. I would definitely go again.
As far as small affordable sushi places go this place is well above par. Don’t let the 8-rolls prices for 6-roll sizes fool you, their sushi rolls are pretty thick and any of the lunch specials are enough to fill someone up for the day (coming from a 6 foot 3 grown man). Service is quick and friend, making this place perfect to go on a lunch break or if you just want a quick meal. The sushi chefs are also very friendly even to those not sitting at the bar. A fair warning though, soft drinks come in a can which seems to be a running theme with most sushi places I find. The rice is very high quality and cooked perfectly which can make or break any sushi roll. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and ordered two rolls (one asparagus and one avocado) but it seems like the chefs there aren’t used to making rolls with the seaweed on the outside because some of her rolls were completely closed. I on the other hand got the crunchy roll and 3 piece of sushi lunch special which runs at 8.99 and is perfect for someone like me who likes some of the most Americanized verions of sushi but also likes the purity of traditional sushi. Presentation is picture perfect menu is very plentiful and diverse, I would recommend it for any newcomers or sushi veterans, but not for people who are taging along with their sushi loving friends since non-sushi options are scarce.
New Sushi Fave. Wanted sushi after a movie in Harahan today, and this place popped up in our search. What a great find! Nice decor, great service and some of the freshest sushi rolls I’ve had in quite awhile. The appetizers were also very light and tasty. Sake Don has a hit on his hands.

Very fresh fish and extremely friendly!. We live in Old Jefferson and love to eat out. Not many local restaurants make it for some reason but I really hope Sake Don’s does. The fish was very high quality and the rolls we had were expertly made by a very nice chef. The menu is small, mostly rolls and no appetizers. They do have a selection of salads and we were given a complimentary one when we sat down. The waitress was very friendly and we enjoyed talking to her and the chef throughout the meal. They don’t have a liquor license but we had beer in an ice chest because we just came from a parade and they allowed us to drink it with our meal. This saved us a good bit of money because we always drink lots of Sapporo when eating sushi. I hope they make it because I intend to be a regular customer!
Great Japanese Food in the Neighborhood. The staff provided excellent service and the food was tasty. There was lots of options to choose from. I will definitely come back especially since it’s in the neighborhood!
