Hidden Gem!. The Grub is a hidden gem! Let me tell you, I came to New Orleans with a list of restaurants I wanted to eat at during my visit. I enjoy cooking shows and pay attention to which restaurants have the best food. Well, on our last day there, we decided to eat at this little joint only because it was attached to our hotel and was highly recommended by another guest. I’ll be the first to say that I suspected the restaurant to be a dive. This is one instance where you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. Even though it’s attached to a mediocre hotel, the food is anything but.It is not only VERY clean inside, the service was VERY fast and personal. The service there was hands down the best on my entire trip. I ordered the Grub Burger and it was absolutely divine. The burger was definitely fresh, not frozen, it was hand pressed and perfectly cooked. It was probably the best burger I have ever eaten. I am not exaggerating. I also had the onion rings, which were also great. They were hand battered, crispy, and so good! If I had an extra day on my trip, I would have eaten there at least once more. It was around 7pm on Saturday night and hardly anyone else in the restaurant. I can’t believe it’s not full of people with how good the food AND how low the prices are. I had the most expensive burger on the menu and it was around 7 or 8 bucks with the onion rings. I only saw two other women there and they were scraping the bottom of their bowls (looked like the gumbo).I’m also very curious about the friend chicken. The server said it was the best around. I wish I took at picture of the menu, but didn’t think about it until I was leaving so I took a picture of the dinner specials posted at the front to show how great their prices are. Like I said, this is a real hidden gem. If I was from the area, this would be my hangout. If you’re visiting, skip the upscale restaurant, save your money and eat here!
