I needed a place to get a drink & a bite while waiting for visitors to fly in. I choose this place, located behind an American Pie restaurant on Veterans Hwy. It’s a sports bar theme, pretty clean, friendly staff. I sat at the bar.The guy managing the grill is a pro. I ordered a burger & fries and he was fast, did not wait long. The burger was a better than average bar burger, tasty roll, well dressed. The fries were an ample portion & crispy, tasty as well. I ordered a martini, always gets a look in a sports bar. I asked for it to NOT be dirty, and it tasted like olive juice when I received it. I broke my creed of never ordering a cocktail in a sports bar and was punished for it. The Tavern was loud, mostly from the patrons as one would expect in a sports bar, many were locals meeting friends. It was a friendly atmosphere, I felt comfortable, I’ll stop when I’m in the area, no martini.
