I went to this restaurant due to the fact that Olive Garden was packed and I wanted to see what was a good meal here . Service was mediocre. My hostess seated me quickly but it was about 5 minutes before I got a waitress. The menu was not complicated I decided on the shrimp po boy with fried green tomatoes and remoulade sauce on French bread. The shrimp was not deveined which concerns me and some of my shrimp still had tails on them. I would not recommend this place to people looking for the best po boy. Their margarita was strong though.
Tried going yesterday to get all u can eat dung crabs, so strange showed up at 6:05pm to be told a large group of big men ate all of the crabs…..really? I think ya’ll might want to order more crabs. The waitress wanted to know if we wanted the menu to order from….no thanks the regular cooked food is horrible. Have not eaten here in years, and will never go back. Can we say false advertising???
This was a very pleasant experience. The staff was very friendly cordial in a nice atmosphere. I chose the Combination Platter with fish and shrimp, Cajun potatoes, and baked macaroni. Oh my the fish and shrimp were delicious. The Cajun potatoes were good as well. The baked macaroni was just a tab bit dry but overall the meal was great. Will definitely frequent Stingrays again visiting New Orleans.
Terrible Service Mediocre food. Terrible service with mediocre food. Booth are nice and large to comfortable accommodate 6 people. We were a party of five on Sunday at 6 pm. It took over 15 minutes to get water brought to the table. During ordering, we were told they were out of Oysters, Corn, Potatoes, and a couple of other side choices. Approximately after 20 minutes of ordering our waitress came out and said they were out of the Crabmeat au gratin which was ordered. The guest hastily ordered the seafood combo and asked in lieu of the two sides since they were out of everything she wanted can they substitute the fried eggplant (the cost on this is equivalent to two sides). The Manger comes and explains, they cannot substitute two sides for the eggplant since the eggplant is an appetizer and the menu is fixed. So needless to say, the guest ordered two unwanted sides one of which was charged $1.25 more because it was sweet potatoes fries. Will I return? NO! There are other restaurants serving the same level food that do not run their establishment like a McDonald’s.
Confused & Angry. On Sunday 3/1/15 me along with 16 other family members dined here & had a great experience. I noticed on Wednesday’s that the have all you can eat Snow crabs so some of us decided to go back on 3/4/15 but we didn’t receive the same service. On Wednesday I decided to call Stingray’s to ask if they have large crowds on this particular night & what time do they stop serving the snow crabs. I was told for the past few weeks the crowds have been light & that they stop setting tables at 8:30 so everyone can get a refill on the crabs. I made it to the restaurant at approximately 7:30 & was told it would be a 30 minute wait to seat 8 people so once our whole party arrived we were seated at 7:45 & we noticed Happy Hour ended in 15 minutes so me & a friend headed to the bar to order a drink & I left her at the bar so I can go to the restroom. Upon returning from the restroom I noticed everyone at the table was in a bad mood because the waitress told them that they were no longer serving snow crabs that night! But the real worst part of it was the manager came from the back of the restaurant & thought she was whispering to the waitress telling her that they not taking anymore order. Only 4 of us wanted snow crabs everyone else was eating regular menu items. I just think they could have handled the situation much better than how it was handled.
Very good food! A bit spicy but that’s totally nawlins.
This is my favorite restaurant! I come here all the time to get the crawfish taylor and I’ve never been disappointed.
