Excellent, have been looking for good Mexican food in all of Louisiana, and surprisingly found it here. People who have spoken negatively about it have obviously never had authentic Mexican food.Tacos are amazing, provides fond memories of inland Mexico. Might possibly have the best ceviche and cocteles I’ve ever tried, you’d think you were in pacific coast Mexico or even El Salvador. I guarantee after finishing the ceviche, you will be downing the juices through a straw.Delicious!!
Delicioso. I just moved back to Kenner after living Uptown for two years, and an absence from LA for many years. There has been a growing Latino community in Kenner, and with new folks come new businesses. I’ve eaten at Taqueria Jalisco three times, and I have enjoyed it immensely all three times. The meal starts with the usual chips, but with a tomatillo salsa instead of a tomato-based salsa. On my first visit, I ordered the enchiladas verdes, which were so amazingly good I have not been able to explore other items on my return trips. The combination of the shredded chicken, salsa verdes, cheese (anejo?), and potatoes is mouthwatering good. In addition to the enchiladas, I’ve always ordered two soft tacos with corn tortillas– which can’t be beat at $1.50 each. (I believe there are 8 choices of meat.) I add avocado and a squirt of lime juice, and I’m in heaven. My only complaint thus far is there are no appetizers. I would love to get queso for my chips. The last time I ate there, the staffer apologized for the place being messy, but it didn’t bother me in the least. The service has always been warm and friendly. I would highly recommend Taqueria Jalisco for delicious Mexican food at a low price.
Service was horrible. Barely saw the waitress. When she brought us our check she stood over us while we were deciding how to pay. Then when we went to leave a tip she basically stood on top of us watching. I have never in my life had a waitress do that. Chips tasted stale and salsa didnt taste like salsa. My food was brought out cold.
I apologize. I wrote a review earlier but it wasn’t this restaurant. I have no idea how their enchiladas are. I ate at a different restaurant down the street.08 Feb, 2012Just amazing enchiladas. I am a displaced Arizonan that moved to Cleveland where good Mexican food doesn’t exist. Whenever I travel I am looking for good authentic food. This place has the absolute best cheese enchiladas that I have ever had. The service was friendly but I was surprised to be the only customer in the place. I will go back whenever I am in town!
Dirty restaurant, absent servers.. The only person who paid attention to me was the server’s 5-ish yr old little girl, who decided to sit at my table and eat my chips.
Delicious and authentic! Homeade tomatillo sauce, flavorful enchillada sauce. The fried fish was excellent with a sqeeze of fresh lime. They serve cokes from Mexico with real sugar!
