I find it hard to believe that anyone who knows how to cook or knows good BBQ would dislike Ted’s. I love to cook and use different recipe than Teds for both my baked beans and potato salad as well as my BBQ sauce. But this is the first place I’ve been able to order BBQ from that has a truly home-made flavor and doesn’t taste like it was just warmed up out of a jar or freezer bag. We are really enjoying our new BBQ find. Keep it up Mr. Ted!
I don’t even like BBQ, but…. We’ve been getting a lot of takeout lately due to our kitchen being out of commission and were tired of all of it, so we decided to try this place on a whim. Myself, I don’t particularly care for BBQ or BBQ sauce, but this was alright. The meat was good (brisket & pulled pork), tender and juicy, and the kids really like the sauce. The beans were good, not spectacular, a bit too sweet for my taste, but still a pretty solid showing for baked beans. They were out of mac & cheese, or rather there wasn’t enough for all of us so I didn’t get any (everyone was disappointed by that). We didn’t try any other sides, but I’d definitely recommend the brisket and pulled pork, for sandwiches at the very least. They should add a few more sides, like maybe some steamed broccoli or turnip greens. Tiny, tiny, tiny parking lot, so better for takeout than dine-in. The food is much better than Voodoo, and reasonably priced in the family style options (meat by the pound, sides by the pint/quart/gallon). We intend to just get the meat to make sandwiches at home next time.
