I guess Im going to be in the minority here, because I was not impressed at all with Youngs. I ordered the Hunan beef, which comes with fried rice and egg roll. I also had the wings for an appetizer. The wings are pretty standard- not bad, not great. But they are severed in a divider plate with the sauce. I dont like the sauce, and every other Chinese restaurant in the United States of America serves it on the side. But at Youngs I had it on a plate with the sauce spilling onto my wings. The Hunan Beef was not spicy in the least and was about 6-7 pieces of beef with drowning in sauce (which once again spilled over to the egg roll). I had to drown my fried rice in soy sauce to make it edible. And why do they use these small frozen shrimp? That shouldnt be allowed in a gulf coast town. I took one bite of the egg roll and was done. And… when I declined a to go box, my waitress brought me one anyway. Hahahahaha. I guess she didnt want to keep that plate either. All in all, a very disappointing meal. Im not sure why anyone would enjoy this place, but apparently there are many out there. More power to you!
One of the best Chinese restaurants there is! I grew up in the New Orleans area but have been in BR since 1995. When we come to visit we stop at Young’s. The mandarin chicken is great but the fried rice is our favorite anywhere. We get a big tray of fried rice and freeze some and eat on it for a week. It’s the best. Service is always fast and efficient. These ladies know what they are doing.
Great food, but the service is deplorable. There’s a server who is always starting arguments in the middle of the restaurant. Can’t I just get my lo mein without a side of attitude? If the white girl is working, you don’t want to eat there.
