Anniversary Dinner. Celebrate our anniversary there last night. Best meal we have had in quite a while, the service from Tigre was supurb. The parmesan crusted sweetbreads from their new menu are a must try.
I live in Lafayette and have no connection to restaurant. This is a great place. Youthful place but stable as well. You cant do wrong here in Lafayette if you like seafood in LA style. Worth the visit and a cup of duck and andouille gumbo.
Charlie G’s. My family and I decided to share a meal at this restaurant after hearing how wonderful a mutual business owner said the gumbo was. My husband and I where both dress in business attire (black slacks and dressed long sleeve shirts), our 13 year old son was also dressed up, although our 11 yr old daughter had some cute blue jeans (dressy jeans) and and long sleeve shirt. When we went to the greeter she asked if we had reservations and as we did not I told her no but we could see that there was only one table seated and it was rather early. The greeter looked at my daughter and stated that we didn’t have reservations so we’d have to sit outside. No offense but in this climate we can gladly do without that kind of place.. So my review is they need to realize we are in 2013, kids will wear blue jeans. Honestly I don’t know if it was her jeans or just the fact that I brought my children but as a mother if they can’t go neither will I. If anyone wants this gift card of $100 for a great discount email me [email protected].
Okay. Tried Cod fish there once, was not impressed. It was also recommended by the server… Fish was dry, not flavorful..
Update: We really enjoyed our meal here lately. The crispy duck was especially good. This is a first class restaurant. Cool, upscale, lively atmosphere. Good, upscale food. Duck & andouille gumbo and crab cakes are standards. This is a great place for a romantic dinner. Yet not an old, outdated place – it’s stayed fresh and up-to-date despite being in business for years. This is a first-class Lafayette restaurant that has stood the test of time.
Holly rocks. Chef Holly is great and her food is outstanding. Especially like the duck.
Decided to stop by one evening and we were totally underdressed. However we were treated with respect. The food was great however the selection was a bit lacking. The desserts were amazing. Probably wont go back because there was only one item on the menu I would eat and now I’ve eaten it. Thanks for a nice experience.
