Food is great, atmosphere too. The wait staff tries their best but the management from what I saw made that difficult. Waitress was concerned for us when food took awhile, asked manager/owner to adjust temperature and assist the chefs to expedite our food. We could see her frustration as the owner said she wouldn’t turn down ac and ignored her request about faster chef performance. We’re waiters too and regulars and were disgusted at the response manner management gave our sweet waitress. We have two favorites: Jennifer and Jean? We think are their names. Love them and their service!
Don’t Bother. We (table of 6) had a 7:45 reservation and were seated at a hibachi table. We left at 9:30 after no chef or food arrived. Won’t be back.
Unpleasant experience. Tried DOZO for first time last night. It wasn’t as crowded as the majority of restaurants in Lafayette that we drove by on our way and after our experience I can see why. The sushi was very good although a little pricey. The wait staff that we were graced with was an altogether different story. I can only assume that he thought that by complimenting his table on their good looks (cheesy) he could be a REALLY bad server. When I commented that I was unhappy with our lack of service He became quite argumentative with me. To which he ended up with a 10% tip Also Menu that we were given were not up to date and somewhat sticky 🙁 Better sushi experiences elsewhere
I thought this place would be really good and I had high expectations for it. However they disappointed me. We had reservations at 6 and didn’t place our order until 7. After about 40 minutes the waiter told us that there was a backup and we wouldn’t recieve our food for awhile. Our group decided to pay ahead of time because we had somewhere to be and when we tried to split the tickets the waiters and owner were confused and it took another 20 minutes. In the end three of us from the group left without food. Overall the service is terrible.
Great place. This is a beautiful place. We had a very friendly, knowledgeable waitress and the food was creative and delicious. Give it a try!
The food is good, but the service is absolutely horrible. We had a group of 8 people with reservations. We didn’t get a table until almost 30min after our reservation time, then once we got a table, we didn’t even get waited on for another 20min. We had to clean our own table to make room for food and had so much trouble tryin to find our waitress. I would not recommend this place.
The waitress was very confused. At least three times during the night, orders were brought to our table that were not ours. We had to wait a long time before actually ordering ourselves and had to ask several times so soy sauce. You’d think that would automatically be on the table at a sushi place. The sushi itself was bland and almost inedible. The only positive was that is it a beautiful restaurant.
