Best Italian food in Lafayette! Service is always outstanding and food is fantastic!
Jamie from Lafayette. IMonelli Restaurant is a true hidden jewel. I place it in the top five restaurants in Lafayette. I have never had a bad meal there and would place their steaks, crab cakes, and veal dishes as the best in town. Every new person I have sent there is amazed with the quality of the food. You owe it to yourself to experience one of Lafayette ‘s finest. Bon appetite .
Good Experience. Ate here recently and hadn’t been in a long time. The food and service was excellent! We had a large table and everyone shared and enjoyed the food. I can’t wait to return!
This building started as a BBQ joint 35 years ago. Still looks like that from outside. But don’t let that fool you. Inside, it’s a classy, romantic restaurant. And I think that the food is consistently very good. Most recently had a wonderful soft shell crab entree tonight, topped with lump crabmeat. Good selection of traditional pasta, veal, fish, and steak dishes. Excellent service as well. This is an excellent date night restaurant.
Dissapointed. Went here for Valentine’s Day. Wasn’t impressed. Will not go back! I’m not anorexic, I want food! Their portions sizes are too fancy for me! You don’t get much for the price!
My wife and I loved the experience. Food, service and ambiance were all great. It’s our new place to go when we want something special.
Very disappointed. What’s the deal with Lafayette? Everybody says we have great restaurants: where are they?Crab and artichoke appetizer: watery sauce, a lot of artichokes, 3 small pieces of crab meat. Very bland. A small ramekin of this was about $10. I sent back my crab cakes: they were gooey in the center, and tasted like those frozen family pack fish cake things you buy at a cheap grocery store, that you would only ever eat if you were really high and 17 years old. The waitress said the chef (AHEM!) was trying a new recipe. What? Was it an improvement on the old?? I was so disgusted, I didn’t want anything else after that. The Mister had a steak; it was good, but swimming in sauce. The veggies served with the steak were totally inappropriate: flaccid, unseasoned, overcooked squash and zucchini, like something you’d expect from Piccadilly. The chocolate mousse dessert had a weird flavor, and the sauce on it tasted like something from a plastic bottle, like Hershey’s. The best part of the dinner was the sorbet served between courses: it must have been Haagen Dazs. We had a coupon for this, otherwise I’d have pitched a fit and refused to pay. No wonder they’re using Bargain Bee: I need to consider that a sign of desperation in the future.
