First off this is the best sushi you will find in Lafayette. The Chef is authentic and his sushi can’t be beat. There are a few things wrong with the way things are run here though. The chef is the owner and only one who rolls the sushi and handles the payments. It is very slow and their system is very unorganized. I come here often for the quality of the food but the owner/chef Chen needs to chill out and hire a few more workers and a business consultant to increase efficiency.
Owner Needs to Chill. A group of my friends and I ate at Osaka Sushi Bar last night. If you haven’t been there yet, the food is amazing and its a must try. Our server , Jared, was very helpful and courteous. Until the owner stepped in and made him and our entire group nervous. She kept scolding him right in front of us when in my opinion he was doing fine. This is not a good look. As a manager of a restaurant myself, Osaka needs a floor manager because this owner walking the floors with run everyone away.
Staff was friendly but the food was very disappointing. Seafood soup was bland egg drop soup with bits of salmon. Sushi was blah with the entire menu containing snow crab and cooked items. I don’t understand how anyone could say that this is the best sushi they have ever eaten. I pity you the rice was blah and the rolls not well constructed. Rice is the building block of sushi ( sushi actually means vine gated rice) and this place sucked. I usually know the sushi is going to suck when I see kikoman soy on the table. I usually eat raw items and the menu contained very few. The marinated salmon with avocado had promise it was lacking salt( sea salt would have been a nice addition) other than that sucked
Literally THE BEST sushi I have ever had. Sushi is one of my favorite foods and I try to go to as many places as I can trying to find the best sushi, and might I say that this place has the best sushi in all of Louisiana. The place is small, not much seating, while I was eating there almost constantly there was somebody walking in to get their pickup order. There’s this one guy that I think owns the place and he just stands there behind his little bar thing and makes all the sushi fresh. So service take a little while but let me tell you it is definitely worth the wait. The guy left for vacation though in October for the holidays I’m not sure when he’ll be back sometime either this month or in February, but I can’t wait. 5 out of 5 stars
Best sushi I’ve eaten. Don’t judge this book by the cover this has got to be the best sushi I’ve ever eaten, it is something that you would get from a five-star restaurant A+++
Amazing! So simple and fresh but with huge flavor! Hawaiian, hetti, LT, and rainbow are all top of the line.
LOVE IT. I only eat shrimp,crawfish, and crab and Oishi’s menu has loads of rolls still for me! The Hawain is amazing! Call and get it to go with their amazing spicy mayo on the side. I only eat my sushi here! Me and my man split 3 specialty rolls(hettie,Hawain,and Julie) and it’s $30!
