I just loved this place!!! Very quaint and off the wall. Felt like we happened onto a little French Quarter gem. Hubby and I shared a shrimp poboy and it was plenty. Home fries were hot and good. Ate outside on a beautiful warm February day. We will be back next time we are traveling through.
Absolutely without a doubt, THEE BEST po’boys in the Lafayette area! They are very generous with the meats and cheese. Bread is wonderful, crusty and chewy like it should be. The prices are extremely reasonable. I would recommend this place over any other in town!!!!!!
What can you say, Olde Tyme Grocery it is a staple and a Lafayette tradition that you hand down to your children. I have had Po-Boys all over the country and you will not find none better than OTG. The place reminds me ofan old time wooden floor grocery store thatuse to be all over southLouisiana. I recommend the fried shrimp dressed out. Lunch time can be a little crowded and confusing, but trust me with all the chaos OTG will get your order right. They also serve small po-boys on large platters for partiestoo. Try it you will like it.
First place we decided to try and definitely one of my favorites. Ate the half shrimp po’boy and it filled me up no problem. Loved that they had Cajun spice on the tables.
A Lafayette tradition that won’t ever go out of style! I remember eating these poboys when I was a little girl and I love them just as much 20+ years later. I always get the same thing so I can’t attest to the deliciousness of the entire menu, but you cannot go wrong with the fried shrimp poboy, fries, and a glass bottle soda.
Still the best poboys I’ve ever had anywhere. Get the shrimp, unless it’s Wednesday during lent, in which case you have to get catfish Acadiana. A special treat.
This place turns out poboys that are just phenomenal. My usual is the old tyme special, but every single one I’ve tried is fantastic. If you can catch it, they run a special tenderloin poboy, mostly on Saturdays in my experience. Other non-menu specials include chicken fajita poboys, which my son loves as well. Their secret is both the bread and the top notch ingredients they use, so it’s not cheap. However, it’s worth every penny, in my opinion, to enjoy the absolute, hands down, best poboys outside of New Orleans!
