Hidden downtown Gem!. I had heard really good things about Poupart’s downtown location so the family and I decided to give it a try today. The restaurant isn’t too easy to find because the signage isn’t easily seen; however we were so glad we found it! The place was empty on a Saturday at noon and that is ashamed because it should be packed! I had the bacon and wild mushroom quiche and it was AMAZING! The top was crisp with onions and cheese, the center has this great custard eggy consistency with the perfect amount of bacon and delicious mushrooms. The quiche was accompanied by a salad of baby field green with a subtle but tasty dressing that didn’t overpower the delicate greens. My husband had a turkey bacon panini which was equally wonderful. Even my picky kids loved their French dip and Wedge sandwiches. For dessert I ate a black and white which is a wonderful chocolate mousse set atop a thin cookie crust covered in a chocolate ganache. This dessert is a chocoholics dream!!! Service was good and I imagine parking is pretty crappy at lunch which is the only downside. If you have never been here you really need to give it a try.

Not the downtown location but pinhook. Terable customer service terable food the bread is stale who knows how long its been hanging around and the manager Linda is verry unpleasant. They look at you as if they hate that you came throu the door when you go in its a terable experience dont go to the ever. I dont know about the downtown location but the pinhook location is simply a disgrace to the name bakery.

Poupart’s Bistro Downtown. They advertise that they serve lunch until 2:30. I arrived at 2:00 and the person working (more like standing around) at the counter said she was not doing lunch anymore. Terrible service.

I’ve spent 2 years in France. Certain items on the menu here rival the best Parisian bistros. The croque monsieur, a sandwich stuffed with ham, topped with gruyere and bechamel sauce then oven roasted, is the best I’ve ever tasted. Their French dip sandwich is equally superb. The bread for the sandwiches vary but each is expertly made with obvious care and attention by someone who knows what the hell they are doing – a rare find in Louisiana. Can’t go wrong with this place.
