Went Friday night (02-12-2016), thought I would take my wife out for Valentines day early, to a place we have never been to. Both of us ordered steak and lobster. Lobster was awesome, my med rare steak was not as tender as I expected from a high end steak house and my wife’s steak was cooked med and was dry and chewy. The atmosphere, we thought would be some what romantic, was definitely not. It wasn’t the customers being loud but the waiters, giving high 5’s to each other, one waiter in particular being extremely loud when taking and laughing apparently wanting attention from the surrounding customers. This happened each and every time he approached this particular table. This is totally unprofessional and should not be allowed. This was not at all the romantic place I thought it was. I will not be returning there.
Service and food are great, but management is horrible. Tried numerous times to reach out to Ruth’s Chris corporate to speak to someone about this location, but they do not respond to anyone. Very disappointing because we really enjoy going there but cannot support a company like this.
46th Anniversary Dinner. My wife and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary at Ruth Chris resturant in Lafayette, La. The Hostess greeted us with Happy Anniversary and took us to our table. The food was outstanding and the service was best I ever experienced. I want to compliment our waitress, Marie, as saw to our needs throughout the evening, is such a caring person and an awesome personality. By far the best waitress I ever experienced. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Thanksgiving Dinner Out. My husband and I chose to order steak rather than the Thanksgiving Dinner option, although it sounded great and was a good value. We each ordered a side and shared them. I got the Harvest salad, which was spectacular; my husband ordered the spinach au gratin, which was very good. My husband’s ribeye steak was exactly medium rare, and he said it was nearly perfect. My filet was actually rare rather than medium rare. I ate around the outside edges, which were a bit more cooked, and brought the rest home for a fabulous breakfast of steak and eggs. I think Ruth Chris bases their steak’s internal cooking temperatures on ribeyes, so that other cuts that are thicker or thinner end up being over or undercooked. The restaurant was elegant and quiet, and it was a lovely evening.29 Nov, 2014Thanksgiving Dinner Out. Horrible Service. A 50th birthday is like a first impression…..It’s unfortunate my wife chose to surprise me for my 50th birthday celebration at Ruth’s Chris in Lafayette La. It was the worst service ever and I would strongly recommend dinner at the many other great restaurants in the area rather than this place. Ruth’s Chris will not make my list for any future special celebrations because there was absolutely nothing special about this restaurant.
A for effort, C for quality. Service was very good but food was disappointing. Ordered ribeye medium rare a got it medium well. Even after cooked right steak was not any better than what you can buy at Albertsons.
Based on some of the reviews I’d seen here and on other sites I’d steered away from Ruth’s on prior occasions and was prepared to be unimpressed. First, let me say there really isn’t a ‘name’ steakhouse in Lafayette and when you try and find ‘steakhouses’ on the various sites, everything from Outback to grocery stores pops up. Ruth’s here exudes a nicely decorated ambiance that presages a relaxed dinner. The waitstaff were personable and friendly and quickly greeted us and offered drinks and hot bread. We ordered a couple of filets and they were, as advertised, prime and cooked perfectly. The sides were delicious as well. We actually did the chefs three course special, salad, entree, side and dessert, priced at about $40 per person and split a Shiraz, for about $140 before tip – pretty reasonable as usually at Ruth’s or Morton’s it’s all ala carte. If I had one issue to say it’d be when you take the salads away at least replace the knife instead of laying it on the white tablecloth… Also, don’t be surprised by some of your fellow diners being in there in jeans or tee shirts; there’re a lot of classless clods on the loose these days… We’ll definitely do Ruth’s in LFT again.
