Overpriced food, bothersome service, do yourself a favor and hit up longhorn or Texas Roadhouse instead!! Need to hit the 140 character count so This sentence is to help get me there!
Finally made it to Saltgrass with a few friends last night. The server was very friendly and attentive. The appetizer , fried rattlers were good. They are large jalapeo peppers stuffed with shrimp and cheese. Be prepared for mucho pepper and just a little shrimp. The streaks, as you can see from the pics, we tried three different cuts. The filet was very good, tender and nicely cooked. The ribeye was very thin but cooked right and tastyThe strip was good but I have had tender ones. All in all a good dining experience but on the expensive side.
Chain mid-range steakhouse along the lines of Outback, Lone Star, etc. Had a pleasant meal here. Nothing out of this world, but a good, serviceable meal. Nice selection of draft beers. Have heard the salmon with crabmeat and asparagus is really good, but not something we had given the recent crabbing moratorium in effect.
OkIwent in thinking its just another big chain restaurant pushing good food at premium prices. Man was I wrong. The service compares with the best in Lafayette. It was almost to the point of being bothersome. Not just our waiter but any waiter passing by would remove any used dishes and ask if there was anything they could get for us. I had the Rib-eye steak and If you know me, I am very particular about my steak. It has to be seared on the outside with grill marksand a warm red center aka medium rare. The steak was cooked to perfection. I was dumbfounded, I was ready to rate this place 3 stars when I walked in, but Saltgrass deserves the 5 stars I gave it. The prices are in line with service and quality of food.
