Great!!!. Great staff great service great booze!!!!! If anyone has anything bad to say about this place then they are pompous snobs that are too full of themselves. This is a great environment with fresh food and a great place to grab a drink or two. Will be back!
Great farm-to-table food prepared with some flair. The thing I love about Saint Street Inn is that they aren’t afraid to experiment, as the roasted red beet hummus and bacon chocolate cheesecake attest. Once had a pizza there that changed my life: local mushrooms and goat cheese, spicy andouille sausage, and sliced peaches. The ambience is charming with outdoor seating and occasional live music, and some of the dishes are outstanding (tempura fried ghost pepper cauliflower with pimento blue cheese, fried brussel sprouts, green hummus). By the time I’m writing this, those items will be gone from the menu and other seasonal items will be on. If you find something you like, visit often while it is still on the menu. Open W-Sat only, Lunch and Dinner. Half price beer on Wednesday nights.
Really bad experience on my 2nd visit here. I’m pretty disappointed. Arrived to the restaurant at 7. Went inside and informed the waitstaff that we would like the table outside for 4. We waited 10 minutes before anyone came to greet us. Silverware arrived at the table after we finished eating our appetizer and my wife’s drink arrived 30 minutes after ordering it twice. The restaurant was not busy at all. The food is good, but it isn’t worth the bad service.
Patio dining is definitely the way to go. Drinks and food portions can be small and inconsistently prepared. Service is also inconsistent–sometimes great and sometimes rude or inattentive. Overall, the good experiences outweigh the bad, and we keep coming back for more. On a good night, the atmosphere, food, drinks, and service can be the best in Lafayette.
Love the farm to table concept. Relaxed vibe with cool patio; can see myself returning to try a fresh cocktail out there. Seasonal salad was simple but a little taste of everything (melon, blueberry, squash, cucumber, greens, pecans, goat cheese), so perfect, really allowing fresh flavors to shine. Shrimp remoulade good. Crawfish corn cakes tasty, but needed a bit more substance (crawfish). Edamame pure didn’t enhance the dish to me, nor provide me with the zing/kick the cakes required. Pork tacos were ok, great concept of meat, fresh anice slaw, and hot sauces; pork itself was a bit bland and dry. Great service! Overall loved the place and just want to explore other better items on the menu!
Impressed so far. Looking forward to trying a few things on the spring dinner menu. Had the Cajun Cuban it was very good. Gf had the pork belly Benedict it was very good also. Was looking forward to the fried gumbo but the didn’t have it anymore. I will be back. Soon
Immobile Review. It’s been a while but SSI still delivers. Only complaints are portions can sometimes be small but usually inventive and tasty. Had a rube-bard and strawberry pie–good but the crust needed a chisel and hammer. It’s a place where musicians, journalists, artists, and other dead beats can their spend the last paycheck while waiting to be discovered.Update: May 3, 2014Continues to mature. Service; always above average. Food, the balance between flavor, inventiveness, and price is just about right. Just like MacArthur, I shall return.Update: June 2014Canefire Burger $14, it was $13 a few weeks ago, normally, an absolutely ridiculous price but I give in. It’s worth it. Not everyday of course. It better not go to $15 or, or, or, I’ll complain. It comes with fries which are tasty but limp. Sorry, if I get fires, I like them crispy. Wash it down with a beer. Wine or one of their fancy-pants cocktails won’t cut it.
