12-29-16 ate lunch there today, they have gone to seafood restaurant now. No longer a Mexican restaurant. Ordered catfish and oyster plate. Took for ever 35 minutes, slow service. Received my food guess what crawfish and oysters. Neither of which was very good. Fried in old stail oil. French fries was cold. I have crossed this off my list of places to eat in Raceland. Don’t eat here save your money.
Absolutly Love the food! Great place for Mexican food with a lil cajun twist. Waitresses are very nice, attractive, and hard working! Margaritas are the best over there!!!
Mediocre Food-store bought and served as restaraunt quality seafood very small, shrimp is larger than the fish. Service-TERRIBLE went twice they were rude both times. Plus its not the cleanest restaurant a person could eat at.
Good food, good service, hard to find. Locals and truck drivers know exactly where this restaurant is. We were coming from out of town, telephoned for directions after trying to find it for a half hour. Even then, it was not easy to find, nestled into the side of a large truck stop outside of Raceland. Interior decorating was country Cajun and shabby attractive. Well used tables and chairs but all were clean. The owner was busy along with wait staff to serve the customers. That seemed to boost morale and increase productivity and customer satisfaction, including ours. We ordered a large seafood platter and other higher priced seafood dishes. Bill was nearly $50. The seafood was cooked well, not to perfection, but well. Seasoning was mild and fried foods did not taste overly greasy. We enjoyed the food and the camaraderie of the regulars. This is not the place for those on a budget but it is good food, prepared well and served with a smile, which goes a long way in today’s restaurant business. (that is sad to say!) One concern: not too many Cajun dishes but many Tex Mex dishes. Husband and cook must be Hispanic, not Cajun? ha.
