Nice little place. All things considered there isn’t much to eat in Fourchon/Golden Meadows/Cutt Off Area. Mommie Jo’s has a decent selection of food and their seafood platter is great. The best is to go during craw-fish season. It tends to get busy during the evening as it seems to be an area favorite. Every time I go to Fourchon for work I make sure to eat here at least one time. It isn’t a 5 star restaurant just one of those nice down to earth local family run joints, staff is always nice and service is prompt.30 Oct, 2014Nice little place. Food was just average…could have done the same at home without spending the money. And the service sucked! Young girl wasn’t friendly, nobody even said hello, thank you, or asked if we needed anything. Place was way to crowded too. At one point I had woman’s butt in my face while I was eating. I should have just gone to Burger King!
It’s quite a small restaurant but it’s a hidden gem! The food is outstanding! Good ole Cajun cooking. I’d recommendThe shrimp pistolette as a starter. They are delicious!! Must have appetizer.
They need ti up their game or I will eat at the Jubilee store up the street…
So-So, but what else is there really?. Not having very many sit-down restaurants in the area, many people frequent Mommie Jo’s. The gumbos are good, but I must say that the last two times I went there, I was very dissappointed in the portion size. My chicken & friends (a grilled chicken breast, topped with ham & cheese) was extremely small. My 5 year old could’ve polished it off. Also, the seafood platter was on the small side, for the price.
