Last of the true old fashioned hamburgers. I love their burgers, but what really makes me happy is that they took over Mary Ann’s old location.Cottons is the only people that are worthy of this historic location.A true meaningful place from the memories of our youth. All they need now is a Cantankerous Greek cook to do the grilling and history comes alive again. This great location needed a great burger to complete the scene.I cant wait to go again.Mary Ann’s reminds me of a true New York Cafe. The shotgun style layout with the long bar and cash reg. It also reminds me of the old SNL comedy sketches with John Beloushi and Dan Ackroid in the roles of two Greek Brothers flipping burgers. I always wondered if they passed through Lake Charles before they came up with that sketch because it fit them to a tee.NO COKE, PEPSI !!
At one time he had the most tastiest fried shrimps…now, for whatever reason, this dish is simply awful…I have bought my last order of such this day
Yeech!. My dear, sweet wife took me to this favorite childhood haunt of her family and friends soon after we moved here. Memories are powerful but hers did nothing for my palate. Their hamburger was wafer thin and without seasoning, the food was cooked and hurled onto a plastic tray that may have washed. The tables and chairs wobbled like a freshman after a fraternity rush party. Not worth a second visit.
Good food, good price. This place has good food for a good price. It will be greasy, but really, that is to be expected. It’s not some high class place. It’s a place to grab a quick bite of good food! The burgers are not THE BEST in the city (I used to think that, but more restaurants have come), but they are some of the best, especially for the price!
If you want INEXPENSIVE AND DELISHOUS. Cottons has been around FOREVER and is a favorite of ours. If you’ve never been: you order your food at the registrar when you enter and pay for it then. Must gets: Double Cheeseburger w/ Bacon and the onion rings!!! What’s good: haven’t had anything bad ! Very basic hole in the wall, diner type place but SOOOO good! Only open lunch hours.
Not as tasty as they once we’re.. Not sure what the change was but the last few times I have had a hamburger at Cotton’s they seem to have little flavor and the meat patties are very dry..
