If you haven’t tried this place you need to! This is some of the best food I have ever had. I ate everything that came on my plate. We had the lunch of the day which was baked chicken and the skin was baked to prefection and the chicken was juicy and tender. The mac and cheese is homemade and worth going there for just that. The only thing is if you order the peach tea get half peach and half unsweet bc it’s very sweet. But I would go here again and recommend it to everyone. Mama Reta even comes out to your table to see how your meal is. Now that is customer service!
If you’ve read the other positive reviews, I have little to add. It was by far the best dining experience we’ve had in a long time. The food was excellent (best cornbread stuffing I’ve ever had ), the atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the wait staff was very attentive, courteous and friendly. Mama Reta came to each table to make sure everyone was satisfied with their food. This was our first visit, and we are already planning our next. The fried chicken was delicious – looking forward to the catfish and pork chops on future visits.
Amazingly friendly staff and excellent go-to Louisiana favorites like gumbo and catfish platters. I stopped in for lunch today, and it was refreshing to have fun, friendly service. Mama Reta even came out from the kitchen to say hello to all of the tables.
Looking for some down home cooking?. If you’ve been looking for some good old down home cooking like your mama used to cook, you can find it at Mama Reta’s. I’ve eaten there several times and have never been dissappointed. The food is great and seasoned well, Mama Reta comes to each table to welcome her guests. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. The place is clean. What else can be said. Give it a try. My guess is that you will become a return customer.
Sunday Dinner. It was great food and what made it perfect was the price. My family and I got 3 meals 1st one consist of the fried chicken, rice dressing, green beans, roll and desert;the other one was the bake chicken with rice dressing, potatoe salad, roll and desert. The last one was the Bar B que pork steak with bake beans etc and added extra meat (Ribs)The portion was very large.total for all was around $30.00.I hgihly recommend this place–atmospher, food and cost–what a deal!
