The food here is good. However the service was subpar. We waited over an hour and a half for our food before canceling the order. The manager was defensive at first. Upon investigation he found it was due to a staff error.
Food, service, atmosphere above and beyond. Mazen’s is the only restaurant my family considers going to when we have a special event. During the 2015 Mardi Gras season I had 12 guests attending with me and my husband. We had a very short time frame in which to feed our guest and get to the ball on time. I was able to coordinate the event with the owner of the restaurant . . I turned in my guest names and their orders the day before. When we arrived at the restaurant the night of the event our appetizers and drinks were ready for us. The food came out 15 to 20 minutes later. The food, service,and atmosphere were above and beyond even what we expected. Not only were we able to feed our guest, we were also able to relax and enjoy them. The attention to detail by the server and the ownership of the restaurant gave our event a five star rating! I would recommend to all family and friends.
Very expensive but the quality is poor. We ordered crab cakes which looked good but they were very wet. The cakes were to spicy for a crab cake. Seafood gumbo had mini crawfish tails that tasted bad and the rice looked really dry. Their special was a beef wellington, nasty. The dough was under cooked ALOT and the beef was rare. I like rare beef but not mooing. The chocolate cake was it. The cake was extra dry their chocolate ganashe is hersey syrup. For $ 180.00 I should have had at least a candy bar melted for my cake. The chef said that the wellington is suppose yo be a little under cooked. Very sad. If the chef defends this than I can’t go back.
Fresh and delicious. I’ve tried many of the dishes on the menu, all of which were outstanding. Thumbs way up!
Lunch Review. Went for lunch. The Fish Aladdin was very good. The portion size and sides were disappointing. For 18.95, I would expect the whole filet, not half. The sides were 5 squares of fried potatoes and green beans with huge chunky onions and garlic. I love garlic but wow it was overpowering. I agree with the other review, there are other places I’d rather eat for this price.
Heard good things so I tried it. Disappointed overall, definitely not all it’s hyped up to be. Got the fish Aladdin which had the potential to be good (lemon butter sauce was tasty) but it was prepared with flounder, which was a little on the chewy side.
My anytime I can justify a holiday go to restaurant !. I get the same thing every time I go. 2 3oz filets with wine sauce and crabmeat. It’s amazing. I have yet to find a wine sauce that even comes close. Also the salad for two and the grand marnier souffl are both killer. Servers are always polite and helpful.
