Love going here! The wait staff is very friendly and fast. They keep up with refills and check on you often. They are VERY clean and I love that considering I’m always skeptical about trying new places-especially sushi joints. I’ve been going here for a little over a year and still can’t get enough. Try the dancing roll. It’s amazing. If you like raw, I suggest the rainbow roll or the nemo roll.
I must say, I have been going here for years. I remember the time when Miyako was the only Japanese restaurant in Lake Charles. I never really thought to make a review for this place, or anywhere for that matter, until I was served by this one waitress that was probably the best waitress I’ve ever had. I just had to express how awesome she was. She says awesome quite a bit, so I had to say it. The food here is amazing, and the service could be better if the staff was larger and smiled more. I wouldn’t come back after all these years if the food tasted terrible would I? They’ve been hiring for awhile now, so I try to be as patient with service as much as I can, because the food here is worth it. The waitress is named Lindsey. She tries as much as possible to give you the best service, she smiles, AND actually talks to you. Need an awesome waitress? Ask for her.
Phenomenal. My husband and I have been eating here for almost a decade the sushi continues to be high quality and fresh every time. The atmosphere gives off a very authentic vibe and it is so neat to be able to watch the chef make the sushi. Occasionally, the service has not been 100%, but this is definitely something we feel we can overlook due to the fantastic meal we know we will get. Hoping for many more decades at Miyakos!
The lady of the owner sucks !!! When she bring the food to us just put the plate on the table then left , didn’t say anything , no smiling . Her face same like a robot .
BELIEVE THE REVIEWS. Service was terrible. Food was decent. I was charged for things I didn’t order. In general, it was a mess.
It’s not the food that’s the problem here. It’s the HORRIBLE servers. Out of the last 4 times I’ve eaten here, my order has been wrong 3 times. No specialization on an order either. Chopsticks/silverware not at the table even after the food is brought out. I actually had to go take it from another table because of the lack of attention paid to the table. Will not be coming back anytime soon!
Like many of the other reviews, this is great food andmaybe the best sushi in town. But I almost dread coming here the service is so bad. If they would get the service up to the level of the food this would be a weekly stop for us instead of every other month.
