Service is great, albeit mildly confusing upon initially entering. Servers were attentive and had positive attitudes, food was delivered quickly and was fresh. I had their chicken and sausage gumbo, with a side salad and stuffed potato. My partner had the Nina P Burger. Everything was absolutely delicious, with the exception of the rice served with the gumbo (it was definitely old rice, heated in a microwave. I could tell because it was hard.) Portions were HUGE, the prices arent bad, and the atmosphere and service are a pure delight. Definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through or visiting.
We eat there about twice a month and try to get there soon as they open to make sure we get a table. We’ve tried different menu items and have yet to be disappointed. Everything is freshly made and is delicious! Wait time really depends on how crowded they are, but it’s worth the wait.
We entered on Friday 8/28 at 1 pm with a party of 7. We were told to wait a minute as the staff cleaned 3 empty tables. Instead of putting two together to accommodate us, the staff seated couples people behind us on all three tables. We were told a large table in the back would be ours. It was occupied by a group of laborers in no hurry to vacate their table. This was an awful example of dis-service at a restaurant. Ileft after 20 minutes with no intention to ever return.
Great bread, good food. Stays open til 9 now.
Came here 1st time w/family today… Ordered 4 specials… 1st they ran out of chicken fried steak (one of the options on special). Next, ran out of sides. Then when food was brought out, it’s slopped on plate, edge of plate not cleaned off. Gross. And mine came on a beautifully chipped plate. Two corners completely chipped off. Nice. Food: mashed potatoes were cold. Mac & cheese was cold and like it had been sitting all day. Peas were just gross. Chicken… Tasted weird- couldn’t eat it. After all we’ve heard about this place- I’m highly disappointed.
