Worst experience ever at Pappy’s. I have eaten at Pappy’s many times over the years and am usually very satisfied with their food and service, but today was the worst experience I have ever had there. I called in an order to go and was shorted the order of french fries which I was charged for and the Fried Green Tomato Buster was a big disappointment. On the Fried Green Tomato Buster, the bed of mixed greens didn’t completely cover the bottom of the container and they did not include the remoulade sauce that was listed in the description of the dish. What a disappointment!!!
We were driving through LC and stopped at Pappy’s because it had great reviews. It was just OK. Everyone was really nice but it took a long time to get our food and it was not hot when it was served. My husbands burger was thin and it had a distinct funny seasoned taste. The curly fries were good. If in the area again we will try something different.
Pappys has the best sandwiches in lake Charles. Very local, always busy. Best lunches around.
Pappys muffuletta is the best in Lake Charles. The Jalapeo Cheeseburger comes in a very close second. They make their own jalapeo mayo for the burgers! A must try in Lake Charles!
How did no one tell me about Pappy’s? Everyone recomends KD’s ( and rightfully so ) but Pappy’s is awesome! I tried the Muffuletta, and the first thing to know is you should only need 1/2 a muff. This is one the best sandwiches I have tasted. I did need a lot of napkins, which is always a good sign. Since this was my first trip, I can’t speak about any other poboys, but I am looking forward to trying them. Check out Pappy’s for a great meal!
Should be in top 10. Pappy’s is a LC staple! Mr. Gary, the owner, and his family are wonderful people as well. Everything they do they do well. My personal favorite is the jalapeno baked club sandwich with fried pickles on the side. The bar side is also legit.
