This place has the seafood!! It’s definitely a hole in the wall but don’t let that stop you. They have blue crab, crawfish, oysters and shrimp! I tried the gumbo, which was tasty but could have been more spicy. My co workers had oysters, shrimp and catfish – they all said it was great! Service was fast and the price was good. I recommend and will return.
Never again! Tried to deal with a simple overcharge on our check to get it correct and the owner rudely confronted us… He told me I yelled at his waitress – which was not true. Obviously a check scam was being played on us as the waitress twice claimed she had nothing to do with the check, and the cashier had no idea which ticket was ours. As the owner ranted at us for supposedly yelling, I told him we wouldn’t be back. He raised his cell phone at me and asked if he could get that on record. The owner was clearly drunk and was getting more obnoxious as we finally got the ticket right with the cashier. So, if you don’t mind getting scammed on your ticket and a drunk obnoxious owner – enjoy!
Visiting here from Hot Springs AR. Excellent food and even better service!! Very pleased and will return if ever back in the area! Even the customers EXTREMELY friendly! The experience at this restaurant lets me know Lake Charles would be a great place to call home!
Palace Malice. Ordered their gumbo and got a bowl of salty, brown, warm water with a slice of sausage and two chunks of chicken. The side of rice was overcooked, sticky, and scraped from the bottom of a pan. Couldn’t get the server’s attention because she was too busy talking with a party across the dining room. Manager blamed me for having him drop the gumbo cost from my final bill. My worst meal? No. My worst service? No. My worst dining experience? YES
Poor service, slow service, and poor food quality. We waited in line to be seated at lunch on a Wednesday for 30 minutes, we were referred here by a local casino staff. We knew by the crowd it should be good food and the wait would be worth it. After being seated we waited 45 minutes for drinks. When I order was placed. It took an additional hour to receive the appetizer, salad, and food all at one. The wait staff blamed the kitchen, the owner would seat people but not help his staff serve drinks or get caught up. We actually were going to leave when the food came. The stuffed crab was full of shell, the crafts were unseasoned, and we asked 4 times for a glass of ice before getting it. We try to tell the cashier at the desk about the problem so she could see about a change in how our first trip went. She said she was the owners sister and they were busy and that’s how it goes. We were totally shocked how it was handled. We were there 3 hours for lunch (2 people). They seemed total uninterested in our concerns and blew us off. Very disappointed!
Mushy crabs. $34.83 worth of mushy boiled crabs. what a disappointment. first and last time to stop here.
