Well, it has been a while since we have been back here and it will definitely be a while longer before we are again. The service left a lot to be desired. The young man at the cash register was very cordial but the woman at the door and one of the waiters needed a definite attitude check. My wife had a combo plate and I had the crawfish etouffee. The combo plate was fried shrimp and crawfish. The shrimp and the crawfish were so small we couldn’t tell them from the little crunchies. And the plate consisted mostly of fries, a huge pile of fries, with a few shrimp and crawfish on top. And my crawfish etouffee was a medium sized bowl, definitely not a large as I ordered, of rice with a bit of etouffee on top, which soaked into the rice very quickly. And the flavor was very bland. The worst I have ever had at any restaurant. And our meal cost us $65.69. In no way whatsoever would I recommend this restaurant to anyone, There are many other far better restaurants in Lake Charles to dine at. It will again be a long time before my wife and I dine here, if ever.

This is a fried seafood joint. If you don’t want fried seafood, not sure it is your place. That said, loved the breading…Light and flakey. Catfish, crawfish tails, and shrimp were perfect. Don’t know what they do to those rolls, but they are ridiculously good. No slower than a fast food joint if you are flying by on 10.

They make an exceptional Catfish Po’boy! The catfish was perfectly fried, not greasy, crispy exterior, and tender interior. As well, they kept it simple with just lettuce, tomato, onion, and tartar sauce. Two Thumbs Up!

On a recent trip through Lake Charles we stopped in a Steamboat Bill’s on the Lake. My first time there so if you’re not used to it the whole ordering and seating thing. When I finally made my way to the counter I decided to try a unique dish – Catfish Atchafalaya. It consisted of a bead of rice, with a nice sized fried catfish filet over it. Over the whole thing is poured their signature Atchafalaya sauce which is a cream sauce with crawfish. This dish was really good the balance between the rice, the fish and sauce worked really well together. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great. Enjoyable meal, would recommend

This is our go to, especially during lent. The gumbo is the best and consistently good. I can honestly say we’ve never had a bad meal in all the years we’ve frequented this restaurant.

Ack I was not as impressed as I thought I was going to be. I heard about this place from a lot of tourists so I decided to give it a try but compared to the other local places, this was way too greasy for me. My shrimp po boy buns were toasted on the grill with butter to the point that my mayo just slid off. I won’t give it a horrible rating though because the service was good. The gumbo I had was very tasty, the prices are decent and the place was packed so who knows….
