What a find! This is NOT Tex-Mex… The enchilada plate was probably the best I have had north of the border. Hole in the wall, but friendly service and the best Mexican in town.
This is the only place to get honest-to-goodness Mexican food in Lake Charles. Excellent breakfast options. You can even order cactus there. The dcor isn’t much to look at, but the food more than makes up for any cosmetic deficiencies. Everything on the menu is inexpensive and well worth trying for breakfast. Lunch is a little mediocre and pales next to the breakfast offerings, but the salsas on the table (red and green) are great and very spicy. Flour tortillas taste homemade. As great as the food is, I can’t believe that this place off-the-radar with only a handful of votes and no reviews (until now).
