Horrible Service followed by below average, salty steak…. I visited this restaurant on a Saturday night at around 9:40. It wasn’t crowded at all(probably due to a the LSU and local college football games) and we were seated promptly; however, it took 15 whole minutes( I clocked it) for a waitress to offer us a drink. My boyfriend and I almost walked out, but I REALLY wanted a steak. Turns out our waitress was a curly, blonde haired lady having a nice conversation with the booth behind us. When she finally approached us she was smacking on gum.(I could actually see it bouncing around in her mouth! How gross? Big NONO in the food service industry! What if it had fallen into my food or drink?YUCK. Luckily, it didn’t but it was still gross!) She had a pleasant personality, but she is the worst server I have ever seen(and my family owns a restaurant with a revolving door of waitresses!) We ordered our drinks and an appetizer. She walked off, then came back without our drinks to check on the booth behind us. Eventually, we finally got our drinks but not our appetizer. Our food came out first, and my date’s and my steak looked totally different.I hope they don’t cut the meat their selves because they obviously don’t know what they’re doing. No consistency here at all. My steak was very thin, greasy, and WAY over seasoned. I like my steak rare(you know with a COOL RED CENTER), but my steak had a warm purple-ish-red center(from being over seasoned and aged wrong). The purpleish tint doesn’t bother me but the peppery/saltiness does! Normally, I would have sent it back but having been there for over a half hour before getting our food, I didn’t want to deal with having to wait for another steak(especially without an appetizer). When we were almost done eating, the manager brought out our appetizer. He was very apologetic, and I appreciate the gesture but something about the situation made me feel uneasy(like our waitress was lurking waiting for a response) so I didn’t mention the horrible(or lack there of) service, plus my date was in a hurry to leave so we just smiled awkwardly. My date just really wanted to get out of there(did I mention how horrible of a time he was having?), so he handed the waitress his card as soon as she brought the bill. Then, she intensely watched him write her tip, which made him super uncomfortable. He made me promise that we would never come here again. Next time I have a craving for steak, we will probably make a drive to Covington.

Nope!. Service is always horrible. Food isnt all that great for the price. I avoid going here at all cost.

Horrible service. Got to Resturant in Hammond for 1:00 pm with reservations. Did not have tables set up. Gave us a table & several booths. Then when several were late gave up two of the booths. Did not get food until 2:45. Absolutely horrible service. Will not ever go there again. Already avoid the one in McComb, MS. Table next to ours served two groups of people while we waited for our orders. On scale of 1-10 I’d give 0′. Posted on local Santa Fe Face Book page & it disappeared.

The best food and atmosphere!. It was our first time visiting and it was truly awesome. We will be regulars from now on at the new Bossier City store and any other where we travel. The bar manager Robert Simpson and our waitress did more that made us feel at home but the treated us as though we were family. I have to say that when you also can impress my 11 year old daughter and my 5 year old with big smiles from food you have more than hit the nail on the head…. Santa Fe Cattle Co. truly RAWKS!

Our waitress in Hammond, LA was very rude (Beth). The gravy on the mashed potatoes tasted like it came out of a jar and the pasta had alot to be desired. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.

Fun Atmosphere Good Food & Service. Always good. Steaks cooked just right. Salads always fresh. There giant cheese sticks are different than anywhere else, if you haven’t tried them your missing out.

Super Salty Steak. I’ve only eaten at The Santa Fe Cattle Company once. I had the Ribeye steak ordered medium. What I got was a slightly over cooked steak that tasted like it was marinated in salt for twelve to twenty four hours. I went to school with one of the cooks from Santa Fe. I asked him what cut of meat does Santa Fe use and he told me they use the ECONONY steaks, and that the secret of the taste is in the preparation and seasoning. What I got was tremendously salty. Grade – F.
