DELICIOUS. Had the Shrimp Fet entree and Calamari app. It was super. Wife had Chicken Parm and it was perfect. We will be back. This little cafe is great for lunch and the supper menu appears to be even better. Prices are reasonable and the cafe is is neat and clean. Given the fact that I tried then at a lunch rush, I found the service to be much more efficient than many other places. Ya’ done good Angie!
Today one of my co-workers and I ordered lunch. We had eggplant seafood caserole. It was awesome. I pride myself on my stuffed eggplant but this was so much better than mine. We will definitely recommend the restaurant and take our friends. The interior was charming.
We went last night with 2 other couples for a birthday celebration. It was TOO LOUD!!! The food was really good, a few missteps but the echoing noise off the walls and floor… We couldn’t even hold a conversation. It is soooo easily fixed with carpet, DO IT!!!! When I was standing in line for the ONE SEAT BATHROOM, that’s all anyone was talking about… The loudness!!! No one was talking food because it becomes an afterthought!The missteps were we were never asked if we needed wine or another drink after initial cocktail. Had to tag the manager. The gumbo was lukewarm and had to be sent back and most disappointing was they ran out of crab, shrimp, eggplant casserole- and this was at 7:30?????? Now the rest of the meal was outstanding. The pork chops and steak were cooked perfectly and the person who had to substitute Quail for eggplant, loved his. Too bad about the noise because we could have been regular customers
Lunchtime Perfection. The dish–Shrimp au Persillade (Jumbo gulf shrimp sauteed in garlic butter served over angel hair pasta [my selection] OR with fresh veggies [my wife’s choice]).We agree that we have never tasted a better rendition of this menu item. Combined with outstanding service and a warm, comfortable dining atmosphere, the experience was one that will bear repeating. This was our first visit to the new Florida Street location–with more to follow. Most highly recommended!Earl and Marion
Going down hill. This was our favorite restaurant in Mandeville. BEFORE THE MOVE. We have been there three times since the move and service keeps getting worse, along with the quality of the food. I think the management has changed. Not the owners but the wait staff. We have decided to give up, won’t be back.
All I can say that it is VERY LOUD!!!! It has a nice decor with tablecloths. The tables are quite close and the desperate housewives of Mandeville were rude and loud. If I wanted to hear the kids scream I’d have gone to Chuckie Cheese. Service was very slow. We waited 30 min for our lunch. We won’t be going back
Food and atmosphere great. Service has issues but the change to joeys new place should help in October. Hopefully it will have bar and tender to free up waiters. Sort of a best kept secret on NS
