Ordered to go tonight. I just placed an order to go on the phone at Carreta’s of Mandeville. The person taking my order was very rude, she didn’t act like she even wanted to be bothered to get my order. Everything I ordered was received with a very terse, is that it? What else? Is that it? We’ve been eating at Carreta’s for years and I have to say that the service over the last few months has really been awful and tonight is just one more instance.
GREAT DATE NITE. Wonderful place to go meet friends or just eat a great meal. Friendly staff, unending free chips and salsa and the best margarita’s around.

Awful service, good (overpriced) food.. Let me start by saying I have been a restaurant waiter myself and worked many years in the service industry. I have never felt so isolated and ignored at a restaurant as I did here tonight. I don’t require much service… A polite attitude, full drink, and what dish I order will do the trick. My wife and I ordered two, simple identical meals and the order was messed up with half my meal missing. I never got one single refill of soda and was passed around like an afterthought between multiple servers. Even the manager was short with me. I was there in good spirits and am always overly polite…I just don’t understand this place.The food tasted good and the prices were a good deal higher than their competition. I never write these reviews but my experience compelled me to. Avoid this place.
Good food. The food here is pretty good, a place if you want quick, cheep good quality food. I strongly recommend the queso dip and the burrito con queso (burrito with red and white sauce)
Mom of Twins one son. This is a great mexican restaurant. Always prompt service. The best quality. Very family friendly. The wait staff is courteous and thorough whenever we dine at the covington or mandeville locations. You feel like one of the family. unlimited chips, freshest salsa ever, the most fantastic margaritas on the northshore. my family loves La Carreta’s. Make it one of your favorite dining facilities, too.
The best around! Great atmosphere, service, food and drinks! After trying another popular Mexican last night right around the corner from the Mandeville location I wanted to leave after the first bite of chips and salsa. Never again will I decide to try another place. We go to all the La Carretas! #diehardfans
