We just had a 30+ person celebration at the Lakehouse and everything was wonderful. Nice, intimate atmosphere. All 3 entrees were delicious from the Gulf fish to the pork tenderloin. Highly recommend
Slow Slow Slow Cold Food. Yes we had a large group (30 people) with a predetermined menu……food took an hour and a half to get to the table once ordered….which would have been survivable if the food was hot when it hit the table…..nope it was all room temp and slow slow slow to the table…..they brought one plate at a time to the table….by the time the last person got their plate half the table was done eating! For plain jane food, this is ridiculous….We will not be giving them a second chance unless something drastic occurs……
Catering. I tried calling to have an event planned at the Lakehouse for 75 people on a Friday and was told that they were in a hurry and to e-mail them Then when I received the e-mail on a Saturday was told that they would e-mail me again on Monday with the information. I needed to make plans for a venue by Sunday. I found them unfriendly and was only able to get the information after I called and spoke to a manager. I wouldn’t plan on having a catering event here unless you have time to wait for e-mails.
Disappointing. Just went for Mother’s Day and it was a disappointment. We made our reservations based on a newspaper ad that said it was a Four Course Prix Fix Menu. When we got there we discovered it was buffet instead. The food was, for the most part good, but they ran out of salad plates and various food items, so you had to go back more than once to get what you wanted. The service was lacking too, with a very rude person working the buffet line. And to add insult to injury, the charged an 18% tip for parties over 6 people. That is inappropriate for a buffet meal. Nice location, but I’m definately turned off by my experience.
Best restaurant on the north shore. I’m surprised by the low rating. Mandeville has a wonderful natural gift with its lake shore. Surprisingly, there are not more restaurants of high quality on the lake front. There’s really only the Lake House. There’s a pub, but if you’re looking for a romantic date, The Lake House is a safe bet.Our service was absolutely fantastic. The manager was friendly, constantly checking on us, and our wait staff was on top of things the entire meal. The service was close to what you find at Commanders. The menu is short and wastes little space. Entrees range from $15-30. Salads from 5 to 10. The salads are very large and I would recommend the Caesar. One of the finest dressing I’ve ever tasted. The entrees were all good, but particularly good was the Shrimp LaFourche. Though the portion was small, the taste was large, very large. Almost on par with some of the dishes are Restaurant August.The north shore and Mandeville don’t have many good restaurants, but The Lake House is one of if not the best restaurants in the area. The setting is great. The inside of the restaurant is marvelously decorated. The food is outstanding. And the service is unparalleled.
Great food, great view. My husband and I enjoyed our dinners here so much, we decided to make it our wedding spot. The food and the service is always wonderful, and they have the best sunset view around!
Amazing!. I had the most amazing dining experience recently at the Lakehouse. The food was delicious (the Grouper was to die for!) and the service was very attentive. I can’t wait to go back!
