Review. Hands down the best traditional bakery on the North or Southshore. Just moved here from Metairie, all my neighbors recommended it and I see why, the King Cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had. Sent them to all of my family members up North, they also agreed, they were the best I’ve sent to them throughout the years. Found their prices right in line with everyone else and all my family received their cakes the next day. Picked up a birthday cake Saturday, It’s been a long time since I had a cake that reminds me of Lawence’s, the white almond pound cake. It was to die for, very moist and dense. No longer lamenting the move to the Northshore
Yeah, I’m pretty sure I just got charged $28 for a king cake. Are you kidding me? Is there a real baby in there? Why would anyone charge someone $28 for a king cake? It’s basically a large donut. And a donut cost like .69 cents. Seems like their taking advantage of their customers if you ask me.
Dint deliver king cakes as promised. I’ve always liked MBS but last week I spent a LOT of money — $200 — ordering king cakes to be shipped to friends & family out of town. I was assured that the king cakes would be shipped on Thursday via FedEx 1-day service, hence the exorbitant price. I was assured without reservation that they would be delivered on Friday. Well, as of today, one was delivered Monday and the rest haven’t been delivered. The store is either closed or not answering their phone. I will never shop at MBS again!
Just picked up a king cake today. I don’t think I have had one any fresher than this. One of the best. A must try!!

Yum!. Carrot cakes are divine, and German chocolate cakes are works of art and as good as they look.
Set your alarm. Small place, hasn’t changed in decades. Great croissants, muffins, & doughnuts when you can get them. Most of the times I go they are out of things so plan ahead! I also seem to go only on the days they are closed….
