If you’re on the North Shore and looking for a King Cake, well look no further. We ordered the Bavarian King Cake (one day in advance needed) and never looked back. It was rich and delicious. The best King Cake we’ve ever had. Their pastries and cookies are pretty good too.
Best King Cake. Simply the best King Cake I’ve ever had. Living in Covingtaon, my usual stop was Nonna Randazzos before heading to work in N.O., A few people in my office mentioned Mandeville Bake Shop, fianlly found it, thank god for the big rolling pin. For such a non-descript place, WOW, this is what I remember a bakery is supposed to be, being a native New Orleanian, I grew up with Haydels, Gambino’s etc. this place has them all beat. Picked up a cinnamon King Cake, it was so moist and lots of cinnamon, everyone at the office agreed it was the best one of the year. Well worth the extra time getting off Hwy 190 on the way to work. Had to go back on the weekend and pick up some other goodies, chocolate eclairs and petit 4’s were awesome
Great baked goods. I don’t live here, but read the reviews before heading there. Got there early to purchase a variety of sweets to bring to a party tonight. Ate half of them before going, so had to go back to get more! The two ladies behind the counter looked as if they just woke up from a two week sleep, but were very nice and friendly. Wish we had a bakery this good back at home.
