Great meeting place…. The Barley Oak is a great meeting spot. They have a good beer/wine/cocktail selection, the food offered is traditional bar food…YUMMO!

I love the beer but the service is so poor. It has the feel that you owe them for walking through the door. If the service quality would change I would visit ,ore often.
Good selection. I recently moved into the area (within a few hundred yards) of this place.Went in and was immediately excited. My kind of place. Lots of beers on tap. Staff seemed friendly. Selection rotates. Great view of the lake.
Beautiful view to enjoy a drink. Fun place for a cocktail after a lakefront stroll. I don’t like beer, but know I can get a glass of wine or Jameson’s instead. And if you bring your dogs, they bring out water and a biscuit to make them feel welcome too.
Good Beer, Good View. Located on the lakefront in mandeville, The Barley Oak is in the perfect location for drinking beer on the porch. Wide selection of beer’s on Tap and bottled. You will not find your standard domestic beer on tap. You will find plenty of imports and micro brews. If you like beer you will find some great beer there. Building— I believe the building is the best part of this place. It is a raised building with a proch overlooking the lake. Sitting outside on the porch is how i prefer to spend my time there. Beer—You will not find your standard domestic beer on tap. You will find plenty of imports and micro brews. If you like beer you will find some great beer. It can be expensive. They dont offer much for happy hour. Their happy hour offers a couple deals on standard bottled beer, no happy hour draft specials. They do have specials after 6:30 pm that takes a couple dollars off the advertised beer that evening. For example Wednesday is belgium night. The staff is helpful in determing what you may want. The only complaint is to get an updated beer list. They originally had a great beer menu that described the region, the type of beer, the alcohol content and the price. The beer menu is so outdated that they will not even give it to you to look at. They need to find a way to keep this list updated at the very least monthly.Food— Very simple selections. It is a beer place and not a restaurant, but they offer pretzels, cheese plate, burger, salads, and a few sandwiches. I have had the soft pretzels and cheese plate. Both are fine for snacking, just recently had the Reuben. It was a good reuben.
