Ive been traveling to Metairie/New Orleans for a couple of years now for work and have driven by this restaurant on numerous occasions wondering if I should try it. Yesterday, I went with a friend for lunch and am so glad I did. The food and service were outstanding. We even had a visit from Chef Andrea, himself. Will definitely go back.
First came to Andreas twenty-one years ago and it hasnt changed much (which is good). The place is classic northern Italian with a creole twist. Our group enjoyed red snapper, veal parmigiana, and spaghetti with meatballs. The caprese salad and pasta fagioli were nice starters. We finished with tiramisu and praline cheesecake. Chef Andrea always comes out and greets each guest which is wonderful. They even sent a car to pick us up from the French Quarter. We love Andreas.
Im not the only one, right? I cant believe the good reviews this place has. I mean… to each his own, but I was thoroughly disappointed in my meal. Service was very attentive and polite. No issues there. But, eating my spaghetti and meatballs, I had flash backs to being 5 years old and having spaghetti-os for lunch. I mean, this was almost inedible. Actually, it was inedible, but I had worked through my lunch break today. This so bad enough that Im not even willing to try a different dish. $32 + tip for antipasto and spaghetti-os. Not acceptable.
