A decent drive out Esplanade in Metairie. Sort of a strip mall setting. But restaurant is actually quite nice inside though perhaps a bit dated. I really like the menu. Steaks, veal, soft shell crab, fish dishes of a number of varieties. Meals all around for my group were excellent. A really nice choice for an upper scale atmosphere and very good food in suburban Metairie.
Here’s a story I would like to share. As soon as we walked into Austin’s the host told us the wait is extremely long. It turned out we waited 30 min which was not bad for a Saturday night. We proceeded to order the Veal Austin, it turned out to be the worst veal ever. For example, when we cut into the veal it started to move. I don’t think it was dead, because it was bleeding uncontrollably in my plate. We then sent it back only to get another piece that the Ginsu knife couldn’t or wouldn’t want to cut. I had better meal as my time as a POW in Nam.
