It was almost perfect…. The pizza at this restaurant is actually delicious, and the owners are very friendly. However, there is one youngish front waitress who is driving away my business, and a lot of others, I assume. I’ve been put on hold for 5+ minutes on phone orders at 4pm and arrived to an empty restaurant upon pick up. She is awful to deal with and is ruining Cafe Roma. Best pizza in Metairie otherwise.
I ordered it to be delivered one night and my son fell asleep waiting for it. Finally I got a phone call saying they needed my credit card # they were on their way. Well they never needed my credit card on the way before they knew that 2 hours was a long time I guess before sending someone they wanted to make sure. I planned on buying the pizza and putting it in the fridge for the next day but since they had called and they had not made the pizza yet I canceled it since it was 2 hours later and my son was asleep.
Cafe Roma. My husband and I went to dine in and arrived around 10PM and their hours are till 11PM. We were greeted a hello by an employee getting off duty and heading to her car. As we opened the door another employee taking out trash walked out as we walked in with no words spoken. We go inside and stand there for a few minutes never to be greeted or sat down. There were at least 2 people in the back kitchen. So we decided just to seat ourselves. The employee taking the trash out came back in reeking of cigarette smoke walked by us still no words. We figured he would tell someone in the back that there were customers that needed to be helped. Waited 10 minutes and still nothing. So we just got up and left and watched them peek out at us through the kitchen window as we drove away. Horrible first impression…will never go back.
They made it right. First experienced ended well, but not until after an 1.5 hour delay. Ordered tonight with a special request; food was delivered on time with requested changes. Delicious!!!!
