Absolute worse dining experience. Being a restaurant manager, I tend to be more patient and overlook a lot of mishaps at other restaurants I dine at. From the time we walked in the door, until the time we left my waitress was extremely rude. When my waitress tells me that I need to remember what I ordered, I have a HUGE problem. I order the same item at every Chinese restaurant that I go to… So I am well aware of what I ordered. Another guest asked for an egg roll with her lunch plate as an up charge and the waitress argued with her about that. I asked for a togo box. My waitress takes my plate and the food never returns. I can honestly say this was the absolute worse dining experience I’ve ever had and have no intentions on going back… !
NOW – Best in Metairie. We Hadn’t eaten there in ages due to poor service and food. WOW, what a recent turn around! They serve the best Mandarin Chicken and Pork Fried Rice we ever tasted. We have gone back a half dozen times and gotten food to go and it has always been excellent. We really love it.
Good Manderin Chicken. Good stuff, you can ask for white meat; $9.42 with tax and tea. I wound not put it on a bucket list, but if you are in the Airline Park/Zephyr Field area, you will do all right here. They had 25+ customers, about half full, and service was prompt so they are overdue for some decent customer feedback.
Garbage. What’s to like here? Absolutely nothing. I use to enjoy Cathay Inn as a quick fix for Oriental food cravings, but after a series of recent visits I will not be returning. I went with a group recently and left severely disappointed. It was so bad, that I had to stop at the Dairy Queen next door to get the taste out of my mouth. First off, we ordered a few servings of Crab Rangoon. Sure enough, they were overly fried and rubbery. In the middle of (trying to) eat our appetizer, the waitress delivers my rice portion that is supposed to go with my chicken dinner meal. During the wait time in between segments of my meal being served, my rice got cold. Ten minutes later, our dinner meals arrive piping hot after probably having been in the microwave considering the film left from the sauce on the side of the plate that we had to scrape off. I couldn’t even finish my meal it was that bad. The dog got my leftovers. I was afraid to even eat the fortune cookie for fear of it being stale. Everything from outdated decor, try hard, aggravating waitresses who repeat your order to you 15 times and ask you if you want a refill every 2 minutes, canned soda and probable microwaved food just makes this place a shell of what it once was. It may be under new ownership considering the name change and that’s for the worse.
AWFUL everything! I agree with the first reviewer on all subjects. There were 2 ladies and it took forever to even be acknowledged at the door and it only got worse from there. The server was rude and appeared aggravated at our mere presence. The atmosphere was scary at best with dirty carpets and extremely outdated, rundown decor. I am unable to comment on the food as we didn’t stay long enough for the meal to arrive. Don’t give this place a second thought!
HORRIBLE SERVICE!. We ate there for dinner. It appeared that there were only 2 waitresses for the entire restaurant. The restaurant was not very crowded, but the service was horrible. We waited a long time for one of the two waitresses to come acknowledge our presence, and then when our order came, we never seen the waitress again. She never once checked on us. The egg rolls were extremely greasy and the rest of the food was not so great either. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
This place is seriously lacking. The decor is at least 20 years old, the soft drinks come in cans, and the food is mediocre at best. Save your time and money. I somewhere else.
