Good way to leave NOLA!. Our son took us here on the last morning of our trip. They have a funny staff. They have a great breakfast. No, no human should eat breakfast like this, but we thoroughly enjoyed this joint. The three of us split one pancake to go with our individual breakfasts. The three of us could not finish the pancake. I saw a body builder finish a short stack (3) of them. Their cajun creme sauce is good on anything. I bet a drunk person would eat a cow patty smothered in it. The hash browns with shrimp and crawfish are freakishly good. The omelets are fantastic. THIS IS NOT AN IHOP OR WAFFLE HOUSE OR HUDDLE HOUSE! This place is a million times better than all of those other breakfast joints. Forget the quarter-overpriced and hard to get to. City diner has ample parking, good egress/ingress, a great staff, and hearty or should I say heart attacky food. You cannot go wrong with this place. I do recommend driving over to the lake and walking the levee biking trail for at least an hour to balance out your day.
