The food is pretty good and the ingredients are good, but the service BLOWS! Seriously, maybe hire a few people who arent teenagers?! The last time I went was probably my last time, simply because the service was awkward and confusing.
It’s Like A Tex-Mex Subway. I’ve eaten at Izzo’s many times and have always been happy. Pick the size you want, the type of tortilla, type of meat, type of beans, rice, toppings, and sauce. Their meat is good quality and the ingredients are fresh. They have more topping choices than Chipotle.
Honest, simple food. It’s not fancy. You stand in a cafeteria style line and pick what you want on a burrito, nachos, tacos, or a salad. The ingredients are always fresh and you can watch them cooking the real meat in the kitchen. Great tex-mex style comfort food.
Great environment but go get a better burrito at felipes uptown.
Awful customer service. This actually happened last year, but when I saw this rated highly I had to relay the story. So my fiance and I went in and I ordered a Regular Misdemeanor and he ordered a Super Felony. The guy making them was distracted, kept messing up, had to restart once, and was a bit of an ass. Then when he was done making and wrapping our burritos we noticed that there was hardly any difference in the size of the burritos. So we talked to a manager. She pointed out that one was a TEENY bit bigger than the other so, basically, suck it up. The super bonus part? The TEENY bit bigger one was mine…the Regular Misdemeanor. We pointed that out to her and basically got the brush off. Not sure where she learned people/managerial skills, but she did NOT handle it well. We’ve never been back…and never will.
I don’t understand what people like about this place. The place is not that clean and the food does not have any tex/mex flavor. The place is bit of a mess as well.
HIGHLY disappointing! My husband and I were so Excited when we heard they opened one on the Westbank, we had never eaten there before but love burritos so we thought we would definitely give it a try. 1 The burritos and everything inside were cold (meat, cheese, sauted onions, rice, beans etc.)2 I bit into mine and immediately thought ‘yuck’ it had a funny taste (was cold) and was slightly bitter? I though it was just mine but i tried my husbands and it had the same funky/bitter taste..3 The burritos were soggy, I bit into it and cold, bitter, funky-tasting juice was running out..4 After tasting the unfortunately disappointing burrito, I thought I’d give the salsa a try! Maybe the salsa would make the meal a little more enjoyable. I dipped my chip and took a bite, it was AWFUL!! So bitter, so nasty, how could they serve this salsa?!Altogether a terrible experience! I wouldn’t try it. How can you screw up a burrito? Love the idea of ‘build your own burrito’ but this place was a MAJOR disappointment!!
