From NY to LA. I’m from NY and when I moved here, I was worried i would not be able to find good kosher food. Luckily I found Kosher Cajun. The people are friendly and the food reminds me of home.
A little taste of New York. Matzo ball soup, a spinach knish and a Reuben on an onion roll. That is what I get EVERY time after years of tasting almost everything on the menu. And, when I leave I get some bread and a chicken.
Total Disappointment. After 7 days on the road, my husband couldn’t wait to get to Metairie and finally get some meat! When we arrived, however, the woman behind the counter told us that they wouldn’t cook him anything that was rare or even medium rare. It was all medium well to well. When I asked her why, she said it was a health thing. I then asked her if this was a rule from the mashgiach or the Health Dept. of New Orleans. She told me it was how they did things there. And she wasn’t even pleasant about it!During the course of our conversation she mentioned that she didn’t know how they handled things at Casablanca, a kosher Middle Eastern place less than half a mile up the road.Needless to say, we couldn’t get out of Kosher Cajun fast enough. And what a great surprise Casablanca turned out to be! I had never heard of it, but it’s a delightful sit-down meat restaurant with amazing food and friendly service. So don’t bother with Kosher Cajun – why waste your time in a seedy-looking restaurant with surly staff members who won’t cook your food the way you want when you can have a much more pleasant experience?
Mixed Review. I was really looking forward to a NY deli but was somewhat disappointed. The Matzaball soup was excellent and the Falafel was good but a little dry. The sad part was the corned beef sandwich. The rye bread was lightly toasted and there was very little meat. The corned beef was tasteless.
I liked the sandwich but it was small for the price. The people could be friendlier or is that part of the New York experience?
::recommend::. Love the corned beef and pastrami sammiches!Tasty matzah ball soup, hummus was good and the Latkes are a must try if you’ve not experienced them beforeNote:: Closed on Saturdays
Great sandwiches. Awesome onion rings. Really, everything I’ve tried has been good. Prices may be a bit high, but you’re getting quality. Also, great, friendly service.
